Digital Citizenship Week @ SAS

From November 4-7 we will have Robyn Treyvard visiting us at SAS. Robyn Treyvaud is an educational leader with more than 40 years experience in schools in Australia. She is an internationally recognized expert in online safety and digital citizenship. She has liaised with Common Sense Media for the past five years. Common Sense Media is the curriculum we use for our digital citizenship program.

For ES Parents:
Robyn Treyvard will be conducting a special workshop for  ES parents:
"Managing the Media and Screen Time in Your Family"
8:30am - 10:00am, Tuesday, November 4
5th Grade Group Room (i311)

We have a divide in the perceptions and reality of digital parenting: many parents feel ill equipped to deal with the numerous, often complex safety issues that their children may face online. In this workshop, we will explore steps parents can take to create conversation with their kids about their online values and consider ways to reiterate your family values along the way.

If you would like to promote this workshop for parents on your class website, it would be appreciated.

We have also added two new links under the 'Digital Parenting' tab on our ES iPads website:
*Parent Concerns (new from Common Sense Media)
*Cyber Safe Kids
Both sources provide practical information for parents.
