Building on Shaun's great life cycle stop motion videos in grade 2, we introduced the process to Ian Woodfield's fourth graders. They used the videos to both learn a new process and share some of their learning regarding whaling.
Many of the finished products were rough but they were enough exposure for the students to grasp this new media.
A week later, Ian had some of his students sharing their learning about idioms. They choose to use stop motion. Already their technique is becoming more sophisticated. You can view some of them here. A number of the students brought their iPads home so they could keep working on this project.
