Third graders have been publishing expert books by first drafting their books in Google Docs, downloading the final draft as a pdf and then uploading to Flipsnack. Being that the majority of the project was done on the iMacs, it incorporated many skills that I've noticed a drop off due to increased iPad use. Keyboarding, formatting, using the mouse, peer and teacher editing in Google Docs, and desktop publishing basics like page numbering, text bolding, page centering, all saw improvements.
To promote a community of learners, we will collect and showcase evidence of technology integration that maximizes learning.
